Design with an Ñ
Circulo Creativo London was an online and events platform elevating Spanish creativity in the UK. CCLND run from London during 2011 and 2014, time during which we hosted more than 20 events ranging from networking opportunities to full-day conferences showcasing the best of the best of Spain’s creative talent.
CCLND also lived as an online platform that aggregated a data base of over 2,000 of the greatest names in Spanish creativity today, including Oscar and Cannes winners and top players across a multiple range of disciplines. The platform also became a notice board for online networking where new job opportunities were post daily.
In 2013, we launched UNO — the first ever multidisciplinary annual aggregating the best work generated by the community that year. The publication took shape as digital publication featuring creative profiles, project highlights, as well as notable interviews with Wally Ollins and Spanish photographer Chema Madoz.
During a time when digital publications were not a thing, and promoting it only via word of mouth, we managed to reach 1,000 downloads.
The core crew at CCLND were Manu Sainz de los Terreros, Pablo Amade, Belén Balado and yours truly.
UNO was the first compilation of Spanish creative talent in economic exile. Some of the creatives featured in this publication are now Oscar winners, VR pioneers and successful creative entrepreneurs.
CCLND hosted over 20 events to showcase Spanish creativity. The first event we hosted was a photography exhibition at Port of Entry, a rehabilitated butchery in East London.
Our best-attended gathering brought 200 people to London’s Rich Mix over the course of an evening. Big Talkers was dedicated to contemporary Spanish graphic design.
